We are delighted that one of the local school’s girls’ rugby team, whose kit we sponsor, has played in the Inspiresport Champion Schools Finals. The Year 7 team from Malet Lambert School won the final convincingly 40-18 in a match that took place at Kingston Park, home of Newcastle Thunder on 7 July 2023.
The Year 7 girls from Hull school Malet Lambert School, sporting their Hodgson-sponsored kit, produced what has been described as “one of the all-time greatest Champion Schools performances” to overcome spirited Archbishop Sentamu School side and claim bragging rights in Hull. The team scored six tries to claim a resounding victory. The Inspiresport Champion Schools is the Rugby Football League’s flagship schools’ competition for girls and boys at years 7 to 11 which first began in 1981.
