Hodgson sponsors century old challenge cup revival

The Hodgson family has recently sponsored the revival of a century-old family tradition with Yorkshire’s oldest inland golf club’s Challenge Cup Competition. The contest at The Beverley and East Riding Golf Club, which was held on 13th August, saw the revival of a competition that started in 1893 but lapsed in the 1970s. The Hodgson name is engraved with pride on the cup with family members winning the cup in the 1890s and 1900s. The family entered 3 teams into the competition which was a 4 person team stableford event with all four scores to count which created a very challenging round as befits the Challenge Cup.
